Youth Team
Ethan Nwaneri started his football career at the tender age of 9 when he joined the Arsenal academy. By the age of 14 he was already playing for the U-18 side after his impressive performances in midfield.
Nwaneri started the 2022/2023 season playing for the Gunners U-18 team but was subsequently promoted to the U-21 team a few weeks into the season. Ethan Nwaneri’s performances for the U-21 side impressed Arsenal head-coach Mikel Arteta who called the 15 year old to join in the first team training.

Senior debut
Ethan Nwaneri was included in the matchday squad to face Brentford on the 18th of September, 2022 and made his debut for the club in that game, coming on as a substitute for Fabio Viera in the 90th minute.
By so doing, he became the youngest ever footballer to ever play in the English Premier League (15 years and 181 days) surpassing the previous record set by Harvey Elliot in 2019 (16 years and 30 days).
International Career
Ethan Nwaneri got his first taste of international football when he made his debut for the England U-16 team on the 12th of February, 2022. He would rack up six appearances in total for the U-16 side before earning a promotion to the England U-17 team.
Despite being an established player in the England youth ranks and is expected to play for the senior team in the future, Ethan Nwaneri dual nationality means he could still yet represent his homeland Nigeria on the international stage.
